I participated in Website Weekend, a two day challenge to build new websites for nonprofits to help improve their visibility and effectiveness.
Our team of six worked with ICL Academy, an online educational and leadership program for high schoolers.
We inventoried their existing site content, streamlined the site structure, and selected a WordPress template to which the content was migrated.
That template was then customized to reflect the ICL Academy brand with a style guide I created for the team.
Magid Banner Ads
The client needed a banner ad designed as various ad configurations for flexibility of placement. Although ad copy stayed consistent, image selection was varied to best fit within the proportions.
Magid Print Catalog
Magid Glove and Safety wanted a redesign of their biennial print catalog and to keep the page count to a minimum, all under a tight timeframe. My role was to assist in the design and production of a 436 page catalog.
The overall design was kept concise and with plenty of white space to increase legibility and usage. Each section opened with an overview to help educate and guide buyers to the product that would best fit their needs. Product options are highlighted with custom icons and graphs to indicate safety ratings.
Use of master pages, object, paragraph and character stylesheets were integral to maintain design integrity throughout. The catalog content was flowed section by section, using data merge.
I art directed, designed and performed production for two monthly B2B editorial publications.
The process began with a meeting with the editorial team to brainstorm cover concepts, headlines, and visual treatments for the articles.
One of the biggest challenges was working within a shrinking and limited budget. I tackled this by creating the concept images myself with low cost stock art.
Additional responsibilities included template maintenance, news image research and rights negotiation, and final PDF generation, all while adhering to production deadlines.
Shown are several identity designs, each developed from initial concept through final art. They are vector art files created in Adobe Illustrator to ensure scalability.
The Metastatic Breast Cancer Network wanted an educational handout for their conferences. We developed a tri-fold brochure, informing newly diagnosed persons a starting point in managing their treatments. I created and illustrated icons representing the five topics.
The client, an association in the technology field, needed a program for the attendees of their annual conference in Las Vegas.
I worked with a writer to keep the page count to a minimum (36 pages total) while sharing information concisely and clearly.
I created a visual theme, laid out content into logical sections, and created production-ready files for the print vendor.
The content dense program demanded heavy typographic work, including master page layout and application of stylesheet.
This page contains speaker bios, a presentation synopsis, and date and time.
Venue floor maps were provided and cleaned up in Adobe Illustrator. Booth maps were created in Adobe Illustrator as well.
Table formatting was used to present the daily agendas (date, time, location, title, presenter name, etc.).
I created the layout and typographic treatment for a wedding invitation, which included the announcement card, an r.s.v.p. card, and guest accommodations card.
The Station Style Conference was an annual event for emergency services, city managers and architects to share best practices for the funding, planning and constructing of public-safety facilities.
I worked with the marketing manager to develop headlines to tie in across the pieces and fine tune the copywriting.
"Get in on the plan" "Your blueprint for..." "Make plans to be there"
I then designed a unifying style to apply across all pieces.
Full page magazine ad promoting conference registration.
Self-mailer with full conference program details, to drive conference registration.
Print piece selling the conference sponsorship opportunities.
I created all of these custom illustrations and designed the layout of this poster.
